Breaking the Mold
Being a student parent, I've navigated numerous challenges and feelings of isolation throughout my college journey. Recognizing that one in five undergraduate students are student parents, with many identifying as students of color, I was inspired to create a brand for my Graphic Design Senior Capstone Project that uplifts and supports this unique community.
Breaking the Mold provides essential resources through carefully designed care packages, tailored to meet the unique needs of student parents. Whether they seek access to resources or desire support from their colleges, families, and peers, Breaking the Mold empowers and acknowledges student parents.
Breaking the Mold offers a line of seven care packages, each meticulously crafted to cater to the specific needs of student parents, fostering a sense of belonging and nurturing a supportive community. From the student parent who has just welcomed a baby to the one seeking connection, each care package is thoughtfully designed to meet those needs.
I created a brand with the goal to empower student parents through the use of bold typography and colors while also feeling resourceful, innovative, inclusive, and supportive through the use of uplifting messages seen along products and packaging material.
